Rules, United States/Community Helpers, Maps, Cultures and Economics.
Students begin the study of history-social science with concepts anchored in the experiences they bring to
school from their families and communities. They explore the meaning of good citizenship, national symbols,
work now and long ago, geography, and life in the past.

Course Objectives:

Students will be introduced to and begin to grasp the basics of geography, history, culture
and society, civics and government, and economics. Students begin their introduction to United States history
through the study of important American holidays, symbols, and people.

From The Teacher:

This often underrated and overlooked class shouldn’t be missed! The values and
foundations we cover are vitally important in helping children gain a greater understanding of the real world.
Social studies enables your child to gain knowledge about people, places, and events, building an appreciation

fun learning these things through plenty of books, games, activities, and crafts!
