About the Course
PERSONAL FINANCE
Course Description:
Students will learn the money skills they’ll use now and for the rest of their lives so they’ll have a solid
foundation when they’re out on their own. This course trades boring formulas and financial theories for time-tested principles, and real-life applications. Students will complete assignments that will reinforce money and finance skills that they learn throughout the year. In the 2nd semester Dave Ramsey’s Foundations in Entrepreneurship will be introduced. This 4-6 week module will provide students with an overview of entrepreneurship, what it is, and the skills necessary to be successful.
Course Objective:
This course is designed to help students learn about various
financial decisions they will be faced with in life. Some of the topics to be covered
include: budgeting, savings, investments, insurance, home buying, and debt. This course
will be built around Dave Ramey’s Foundations in Personal Finance high school
curriculum.
Curriculum:
Dave Ramsey’s Foundations in Personal Finance: Homeschool Edition
Tests: Chapter tests will all be Dave Ramsey course tests. Midterm and Final will be teacher created tests taken from questions in the Dave Ramsey course.
